ABOUT SAAM
HOw it all began
SAAM Collection grew out of our love for South Africa and our curiosity about the people who shape this beautiful country. For us, travelling has always been about more than discovering new places. It is about the people we meet, the ideas we encounter and the stories that change the way we look at the world.
In early 2026, we decided to bring together our love for the country, our desire to make a difference, and our interest in creativity and entrepreneurship. That is how SAAM Collection began.
The people we meet inspire us: independent makers, artists and entrepreneurs building their own businesses and developing brands with a story to tell. We admire their creativity, determination and the way they create opportunities for themselves and others. SAAM Collection is our way of supporting that spirit and helping it reach a wider audience
SAAM SHOP & SAAM STORIES
Through SAAM Shop, we bring together homeware and lifestyle products from South Africa and the wider region, chosen for their design, quality, character and the people behind them.
Through SAAM Stories, we explore the people, places and initiatives that make us curious and challenge our perspectives.
Two sides of the same idea: discovering what Southern Africa has to offer and finding meaningful ways to connect with it. Through trade and support for social and environmental initiatives, we hope to contribute to a more sustainable future.
PEOPLE, PRODUCTS AND STORIES
We are drawn to products with character. Sometimes it is the design or material that catches our eye. Sometimes it is the person behind the product, the way a business operates or the idea that sparked it all.
Our collection brings together independent makers, emerging businesses and established brands. Each has something of its own to offer, and we enjoy discovering what makes them distinctive. Getting to know the people behind the products is an important part of that process. It helps us understand what we bring into SAAM Shop and gives us stories worth sharing.
We believe trade can create opportunities, good design can tell a story, and looking beyond the familiar can open up new perspectives. These ideas shape SAAM Collection and everything we do.
